Week 12: #givethanks

After hearing President Nelson's message about gratitude last week, I decided to post everyday about something I'm grateful for! Its been a really cool experience for me for a lot of reasons.

One, having to think about something I'm grateful for and how to articulate it has pushed me to look for things I'm grateful for which results in realizing how blessed I am!

Two, seeing what other people are grateful for helps me realize even more blessings! When people express gratitude for things I didn't think of, my eyes are opened even more on how many blessings I really do enjoy.

Three, I've been able to hear from people who don't post on social media very often but who also decided to participate in #givethanks. So it's been fun for me to hear from more people that matter to me.

Four, I love seeing people post about beautiful things. Expressing gratitude is way more appealing than what people usually post about.

I love seeing people use social media as a way to help uplift others. Let's continue to remind each other that we have a lot to be thankful for.

  1. I love your thoughts on President Nelson's message! I have had similar experiences you have had, seeing my friends and family post more often, and filling my feed with gratitude. It has made me more conscious on how grateful I am for all of them!

  2. I love this post! I also had a great experience this week with #givethanks! I tried expressing gratitude for things that are usually kind of hard to be thankful for. For example, I posted about my anxiety and depression and the struggle that has been for me but how it has also make me realize some great blessings in my life. I received so much love and support from people and I felt so much of God's love because of this challenge to express gratitude!

  3. I loved this Gwen! I've loved being able to see the videos and pictures you've put up this week on Facebook! It's been a whole other side to you that I didn't know about (like that video of you singing which was so beautiful!) This really has been such a great opportunity this week from President Nelson and I've been so grateful to see everyone's posts about it. It's really brought a spirit of gratitude to this Thanksgiving season and I feel like that has been so inspired.

  4. I totally agree with what you're saying! I've loved #givethanks because it's actually fun to see what people post on their social media accounts! I was getting pretty sick of what people were saying about politics and what's going on in the world, so it was nice to get a break :)
